Legian is a beachfront town in South Bali, located north of Kuta and south of Seminyak. Stretching north from Kuta, Legian offers the same easy access to shops and bars but with a slightly more relaxed and less chaotic vibe. It is a laid-back area where you can still enjoy Kuta’s low prices without as much hassle. The northern part of Legian, bordering Seminyak, provides more of an escape from the crowds and is also a popular surfing beach. The most popular stretch of Legian Beach is at the end of Jalan Padma, often called Padma Beach. It’s more relaxed than Kuta, has a better and less crowded surf break, and features many friendly vendors selling cold beers under beach umbrellas.
